Palo Alto Networks Founder and CTO Nir Zuk has watched cybersecurity grow and evolve over the span of his career. Nearly 25 years ago, Zuk’s focus was on stateful inspection firewalls, which at the time dominated the market. Ten years later, when use of internet applications began to explode and challenge stateful inspection capabilities, a new approach was needed. This ultimately led Zuk to create Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall.

Continuing my series on how to setup IPSec tunnels on Palo Alto Networks firewalls, this article covers how to connect to an IPFire firewall. As I wrote in the initial article in this series, I realized not everyone would necessarily have access to the same resources I would. This got me thinking – how could someone with access to only one Palo Alto Networks firewall learn how to setup and configure IPSec tunnels?
