The Fuel Original Member Spotlight is a regular series on the Fuel for Thought blog, highlighting inaugural members of Fuel who joined the community in 2015. Each spotlight sheds light on a Fuel member’s background, industry experience, and shares some little-known facts and interesting member stories.
Fuel Board Member John Matelski serves as the Chief Innovation and Information Officer for DeKalb County, Georgia, the third largest county in the State of Georgia. He’s been working in cybersecurity since before it was even called cybersecurity. In 1991 when the World Wide Web was introduced he was working as a security consultant at a few federal government agencies, and that was when he saw the beginning of the need for true cybersecurity.
John has been using Palo Alto Networks technologies since 2006, he’s a Certified Government Chief Information Officer, and has been GCIC and NCIC certified since 2000. Read more about John and his predictions for Fuel’s future, and connect with him in the Fuel community.
