Professional DevelopmentAs the year comes to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on professional development. What challenges did you face this year, and how will you grow in the new year? One way to do this is to make time for continued education. In a fast-paced, evolving industry, setting aside such time can be difficult, but the benefits are well worth the effort.

Whether you’re inclined to learn by interacting with a presentation, reading or listening to a podcast, here are three can’t-miss resources to assist in your professional development.

Fuel Webinars: Led by industry thought-leaders and partners, Fuel webinars are a great opportunity to stay on top of the latest trends and issues in the field. Each technical session ends with a Q&A, which means you can interact with the presenter and tailor the experience to your needs. Can’t attend a live session? Recordings are available to Fuel members on the webinar homepage. (Learn more about the benefits of being a Fuel member here.)

Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Canon: Looking to read up on the latest in cybersecurity? Before consulting the Dewey decimal system, consider Palo Alto Networks’ Cybersecurity Canon, a “rock & roll hall of fame for cybersecurity books.” Spearheaded by Rick Howard, Palo Alto Networks CSO and Cybersecurity Canon Committee Chair, this resource provides recommendations for must-read books in the field. The user-friendly interface lets you sort recommendations by year, occupation, area of interest and committee ranking.

"Don’t Panic," Palo Alto Network's Unit 42 Podcast: The Unit 42 podcast duo is back in action.  Ryan Olson, Palo Alto Networks senior director of threat intelligence, and Rick Howard, Palo Alto Networks CSO, have rejoined forces to create new episodes of “Don’t Panic,” a podcast series that touches on the hottest topics in the industry and how cybersecurity professionals can fight FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt). New episodes focus on software supply chain attacks, IoT botnets and threat actor naming. Catch the new season or dive in from the start on their Soundcloud page.

We want to hear from you! Did a webinar, book or podcast episode spark an idea? Start a conversation with fellow Fuel members in the discussion forums.
